My PC is made by Hewlett-Packard. I also called Garmin and explained the situation in detail. My PC is a 64 bit and my eTrex connects fine Silkylemon. Simaon, have you looked at those settings?
Well, it should indeed — just ignore my previous post in this thread: Restasrt your system 4. Presumably these must be set according to the default “expectations” of the serial port on the eTrex H. After installing it, I received the following confirmation on the Garmin web page suggesting the installation was successful: Download the Windows version and save it to file 2. Etgex e-mail arrived, but contained information totally unrelated to my enquiry.
The test was done on a 64bit machine running Windows 7.
I bought my first handheld Sat Nav receiver, the eTrex H, towards the end of I also have a 64bit pc, hardware and software but must admit this is windows 7 and windows 8. I would be very grateful for any advice or suggestions forum members can provide. Can anybody suggest a fix?

Reasons why this is interesting in my opinion is following. Close your browser then run the file called CommunicatorPlugin 3. What I understand is that the operating system does recognize the etrex to be connected, as a USB device?
Installed Communicator Plugin only, rebooted, installed Google Earth, rebooted. It works for sure on windows 7 and windows 8 – 64 bit, at least, it does on mine.

There is one thing that has not yet been discussed in this thread unless I overlooked it: Any further suggestions would be welcome.
